Attractions in Annapolis

US Naval Academy
The United States Naval Academy is one of Annapolis' main attractions. What makes the Academy one of the top attractions in Annapolis is its rich history and tradition. In addition to offering tours, visitors are encouraged to visit its museum which offers exhibits describing the history of the United States Navy, the development of sea power, and the Academy's role in producing successful naval and marine officers.

Pirate Adventures on the Chesapeake
Pirate Adventures on the Chesapeake is a great place for parents to bring their children for adventure and excitement. At Pirate Adventures, children board the Sea Gypsy, an old pirate ship that is known for finding lost treasure. While aboard the Sea Gypsy, children get painted up as mermaids and pirates. On their way to finding lost treasure, the young pirates will be engaged in a fierce water cannon battle with the infamous Pirate Pete.

Ghost Tours and Haunted Pub Crawls
For those who are interested in things that go bump in the night, Annapolis has one of the best walking ghost tours in the country. During the lantern-led ghost walk through historic downtown Annapolis, tourists will learn all about the ghosts and spirits while visiting the places they haunt. Since some of the haunted establishments are pubs and taverns, Annapolis is home to a haunted pub-crawl, which includes trips to three pubs as well as a quick graveyard tour.

Hammond-Harwood House
Constructed in 1774, the Hammond-Harwood House is one of the few premier colonial houses still standing in America. At the Hammond-Harwood House, tourists can take in the architectural, garden, and colonial adventure tours; or partake in the Mad Hatter Tea Party.

Maryland World War II Memorial
Constructed in 1998, the Maryland World War II Memorial is one of Annapolis' most valued attractions. The memorial is surrounded by 48 pillars, which represent the 48 states at the time of the war. The memorial is dedicated to the men and women from the state of Maryland who lost their lives during the war.

Annapolis Boat Shows
Each October, Annapolis hosts two of the largest boat shows in the world. The Annapolis sailboat show features the newest and most popular racing and cruising sailboats from various builders worldwide. Meanwhile, the powerboat show includes an array of yachts, family cruisers, fishing vessels, and center consoles.
